Selected Methods of Improvement for the Driver's Orientation on the Roads
Černoch, Adam ; Valentová, Veronika (referee) ; Frič, Jindřich (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to find suitable measures which will lead to the improvement of driver orientation in traffic spaceleading to lower the accident rate in the area. The theoretical part describes the traffic surveys that relate to the topic. Furthermore, the work mentioned detectors used for the implementation of automated traffic surveys. The theoretical part also describes methods that can be used to analyze the selected location and then design the ideal modification. At the end gives an overview of the various measures. In the practical part are different methodologies used for the analysis of selected intersections. Firstly, the analysis of observed conflict situations, including making conflicting diagram, under which was designed to measure. Then, the analysis of traffic accidents. Again, the result was a proposal for possible actions. The main objective was to compare and appreciation of both methodologies and proces design measures to improve driver orientation in the selected location.
Reconstruction of Roviny street
Tesáček, Svatopluk ; Smítal, Petr (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
Within a range of study degree, the diploma thesis deals with a reconstruction design of three intersections and a single-span railway bridge along the Roviny street, Brno. The design is based on a familiarity with the territory as well as on traffic surveys. The proposed solution comprises the public transport lay-bys and pedestrians. The shape of intersections has been verified by means of vehicle-swept paths according to the TP 171 standard. The clearance under the bridge has been enlarged up to 4.80m and is in accordance with the S9.5 road category.
Statistical characteristics of the traffic flow microstructure
Apeltauer, Jiří ; Nagy,, Ivan (referee) ; Kumpošt,, Petr (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The actual traffic flow theory assumes interactions only between neighbouring vehicles within the traffic. This assumption is reasonable, but it is based on the possibilities of science and technology available decades ago, which are currently overcome. Obviously, in general, there is an interaction between vehicles at greater distances (or between multiple vehicles), but at the time, no procedure has been put forward to quantify the distance of this interaction. This work introdukce a method, which use mathematical statistics and precise measurement of time distances of individual vehicles, which allows to determine these interacting distances (between several vehicles) and its validation for narrow densities of traffic flow. It has been revealed that at high traffic flow densities there is an interaction between at least three consecutive vehicles and four and five vehicles at lower densities. Results could be applied in the development of new traffic flow models and its verification.
Traffic characteristics of 2+1 arrangement
Kabeš, Luboš ; Čepil, Jiří (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The thesis discusses the roads in lanes 2 + 1 arrangement in the country and abroad. It focuses primarily analogy of this type of arrangement in our situation, ie on stretches of roads I. classes with an increased number of lanes for slow vehicles to climb. Part of this work is to verify some of the traffic, including traffic flow characteristics compared to conventional two-lane roads, especially in terms of: sectional speed; overtaking; Accident and dependence longitudinal gradient. The work aims to evaluate the foreign experience and achievements of domestic communications options for application configuration 2 + 1 in the Czech Republic.
Traffic flow modelling
Traffic lanes merging analysis and possible improvement measures
Mikolášek, Igor ; Ščerba, Marek (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with lane merging at lane drops. The theory of traffic flow is briefly introduced and put into the perspective of lane merging. Forming of queues at lane drops, the capacity drop and traffic flow behaviour at lane merging is explained. A review of existing measures at lane drops at work zones and elsewhere is provided. Measurements of traffic flow from three different locations are presented. The locations are introduced, the methods used for analysis of the data are explained and the results are provided and discussed. The capacity drop is confirmed and the first proof of concept of the later introduced metering system is presented. The behaviour of the merging drivers was found to have a significant influence on the merging capacity during congestion. Further, an overview of existing applications of traffic light in traffic flow control is provided and ramp metering and mainstream metering is explained. The new metering system for lane drops is presented including several possible modifications and extensions. Finally, the proposed metering system is tested in microsimulation software Aimsun. The simulations further confirm the viability of such systems. It brings significant capacity improvements and consequently even greater improvements of delays and travel times due to shorter queues.
Description of traffic flow characteristics
Novák, Martin ; Holcner, Petr (referee) ; Apeltauer, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to observe behavior of traffic flow and to verify or refute traditional so called fundamental relationships. It analyze data based on older measurements, personal measurements executed on the I/43 road, and mathematical models. There were three tools used provided by "VUT" in Brno as well as own developed tool based on cellular automat..
Analysis of traffic lanes joining processes
Mikolášek, Igor ; Všetečka, Martin (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to analyse the behaviour of the traffic flow at an area of merging traffic lanes where an application of the zip rule is expected, accoding to the law no. 361/2000 Sb. “o provozu na pozemních komunikacích”. Žabovřeská street, part of the VMO Brno, in the direction from Královopolské tunely to Hlinky interchange was chosen for observation and measuring. Observation, first-hand measurement, radars, and other available means were used for data collection. On the basis of data analysis, several suggestions for improvements are made. These are aimed at increasing the bottleneck capacity. One of the suggestions is tested in a simulation program Aimsun.
Traffic Model
Bilan, Martin ; Hynčica, Ondřej (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
This Master thesis was created as research for project GA 102/09/1897 Security in car traffic - BAD, which is i.a. considers testing of continuousness of traffic with dynamically updated navigation. Main goal of project is simulator of traffic infrastructure creation. Simulators are two. One of them evaluate trafiic flow on bigger network of roads and crossroads. Second one simulate behaviour of cars during passage of crossroads. In this project is as well parsed theory of traffic activity and mentioned theoretical principles on which are built both simulators.
Behavior of car drives as a factor of traffic flow
SVĚCHOTOVÁ, Marie
In this bachelor thesis I will deal with the behavior of car drivers as a factor of traffic flow with a focus on traffic offenses. The theoretical part deals with the definitions around transportation, i.e., the basic concepts of transportation, as well as personalities and typologies of drivers and selected types of traffic offenses. The practical part focuses on one specific offense: § 125f paragraph 1 of Act No. 361/2000 Coll., more specifically § 27 paragraph 1 d) of Act No. 361/2000 Coll. No stopping and standing at the crossroads. The next part of this work is the statistical part, which evaluates the violation of this offense using data from the city of Vimperk. At the end of the work, measures leading to the improvement of the situation are proposed.
